The tafsīr in brief

Allah recounts the incident in the third person, without naming His Prophet ﷺ, and asks: how could you know that the blind man might have purified himself or been reminded, while the self-satisfied man you turned toward was not accountable to you at all?

• Do not let someone's influence make you overlook a sincere learner. Examine whom you give attention to, not only what you hope to achieve.
• Treat a request for guidance as an opportunity for real change. A reminder can help someone purify their soul and leave forbidden behaviour.
• Convey the message sincerely without making yourself responsible for another person's response.
• Respond attentively to eagerness and reverence for Allah. Someone's readiness to learn should not be met with distraction.

The correction closes with a firm 'no' — this Qurʾān is a reminder for whoever wills to be reminded, inscribed in honoured, exalted, purified pages, carried by the hands of noble and virtuous scribes (the angels).

• Make room for anyone sincerely seeking guidance; wealth or influence should not determine who receives your attention.
• Approach Qurʾān study ready to take heed, rather than treating the reminder as information with no bearing on your choices.
• Value the revelation for its own dignity, rather than measuring its worth by the approval of prominent people.
• Let the description of revelation’s noble, dutiful bearers deepen the seriousness and respect you bring to learning it.

A rebuke of man's disbelief given how he was created — from a mere drop, given measured form, made his path easy, then caused to die and be buried, and to be raised again when Allah wills — yet he has still not fulfilled what he was commanded.

• Let your humble origin challenge pride. Depending on Allah for your very existence calls for gratitude rather than unsupported rejection.
• Recognise guidance as part of Allah’s care, not just physical blessings. Consider how you are responding to the path made clear to you.
• Do not view the grave as the end of your story. Keep resurrection in view when deciding what deserves priority in life.
• Turn appreciation into obedience: identify a command you are neglecting and take a concrete step toward fulfilling it.

A call to observe how Allah pours down rain, splits open the earth, and brings forth grain, grapes, fresh fodder, olives, palms, dense gardens, fruit and grazing herbage — provision for both people and their livestock.

• Make an ordinary meal a moment of attention: think beyond what is on the plate to the water and earth through which Allah provided it.
• Notice the variety of provision around you. Familiar grain, fruit, and trees deserve thoughtful gratitude rather than passing attention.
• Look beyond your own needs when considering Allah's provision: the grass feeding livestock belongs to the same picture of sustenance.

When the deafening blast comes, every person flees even from brother, mother, father, spouse and children — each preoccupied with his own affair. Some faces that Day are bright, laughing and joyful; others are covered in dust and veiled by gloom — these are the disbelieving, sinful ones.

• Take responsibility for your own response to Allah. Even the closest family relationships cannot keep a person from being absorbed in their own reckoning that Day.
• Let the promise of believers' joy encourage you to heed Allah's reminder. This ending offers hope as well as warning.
• Treat disbelief and wickedness as serious matters, rather than judging success only by how comfortable someone's life appears now.
