What AyaSeerah does not do

AyaSeerah is designed to serve the Qur'an and Seerah without collecting personal information. We do not run analytics, advertising, or user tracking. We do not ask you to create an account, and we do not store your name, email, or location on any server.

What is stored on your device

Some features keep information in your browser's local storage so the app works without an account:

  • Study progress — scores, review history, spaced-repetition intervals, and study log entries.
  • Du'ās you send — the text and optional name from the /about du'ā form are saved on your device. They are only sent to the maintainer if you tick the "also share this du'ā" box.
  • Offline study pack — when you choose to download a surah, its page and the Qur'an.com text are cached in your browser's Cache Storage for offline use.
  • Classroom import codes — progress packets and re-practice sets are encoded as strings you can copy and share manually. No class roster is uploaded.

You can clear all locally stored data at any time by clearing your browser storage for this site.

Cookies and tracking

AyaSeerah does not set its own cookies for tracking or analytics. The app does not use Google Analytics, Facebook pixels, or similar services. If you sign in through a managed authentication provider in the future, that provider may set cookies required for authentication.

External data sources

The app reads from public, authenticated APIs to load canonical Qur'anic text and hadith:

  • Quran.com API — for verified Arabic text and translations. No personal data is sent to Quran.com.
  • Hadith API — for cited narrations. You can verify any hadith directly on the Sources page.

These requests are read-only. Your IP address may be visible to those services as with any web request, but no identifying user data is transmitted.

Feedback and contact

Feedback you submit on the About page is sent to a private review inbox that only the maintainer can read. It holds your message and, if you choose to provide them, your name and an email address for a reply — nothing else. Du'ās stay on your device unless you tick the box to share them. You can ask for anything you sent to be deleted.

Anything you post on the public du'ā and reflection wall is stored in our database and, once the maintainer approves it, is visible to everyone. If you choose "post anonymously", no name is stored with it. We do not store accounts, IP addresses, or contact details for wall posts. Ask the maintainer and any post will be removed.

Children's privacy

AyaSeerah is a study and educational tool intended for learners of all ages. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. Because the app does not require an account or collect information, there is no registration process for minors.

Changes to this policy

If AyaSeerah ever adds a feature that changes how data is handled, this policy will be updated and the effective date will change. The app remains committed to storing as little as possible on its own servers and keeping user data on the user's device.
