The tafsīr in brief

They call him possessed and demand angels. The reply is not a miracle but a guarantee: indeed We sent down the Reminder, and indeed We will be its guardian. Then the reminder that messengers before him were mocked too, and that mockery is a repeating pattern, not a verdict.

• Let Allah’s description and protection of the Qur’an guide your confidence in it, rather than the insults directed at its messenger.
• Do not let present comfort become an excuse to postpone repentance. Time to change is an opportunity, not a guarantee that accountability will never come.
• Examine whether you are seeking guidance or setting conditions to avoid accepting it. Demanding more signs does not cure a settled refusal to believe.
• When ridicule makes faith difficult, remember the earlier messengers. Take their experience as encouragement to remain steady and as a warning against arrogant rejection.

We placed constellations in the sky and adorned it for onlookers, and guarded it from every outcast devil except one who steals a hearing and is pursued by a clear flame. The earth was spread out, firm mountains set on it, and everything made to grow in due balance — provision placed there for you and for creatures you do not provide for. The winds are sent to pollinate, rain sent down from the sky to give you drink, and it is Allah, not you, who is its true keeper. He gives life and causes death, and He is the true Inheritor of all things.

• Let the beauty of the night sky lead beyond admiration to trust in Allāh’s authority. What looks beautiful to us is also a guarded domain.
• Notice provision beyond your own needs. Mountains, growing plants, and creatures outside your care all direct attention to a Provider whose care exceeds yours.
• Receive everyday supplies with gratitude rather than a sense of complete control. The rain and water you use come through provision Allāh measures with wisdom and mercy.
• Keep temporary life and possessions in perspective: Allāh gives life, knows every generation, and will gather everyone. Let that certainty shape what you value today.

The tafsīr in brief

Man is created from sounding clay, the angels prostrate, Iblīs refuses. He then states his plan openly: because You misled me, I will make wrong seem beautiful to them on earth and mislead them all — except Your chosen servants among them. The reply names the only firewall: over My servants you have no authority, except those who follow you.

• Do not let comparisons turn into contempt. Iblīs treated Adam's material as a reason to reject Allah's command, while the angels obeyed the One who honoured Adam.
• Do not confuse being given more time with being approved. Iblīs received a reprieve while remaining expelled and cursed.
• When wrongdoing begins to look appealing, recognise the invitation without treating it as irresistible. Turn towards sincere service to Allah rather than surrendering to the thought that resistance is impossible.
• Judge an invitation by its destination, not just its immediate appeal. Return to Allah and accountability remain certain, and following Iblīs ends in punishment.

Those mindful of Allah will be amid gardens and springs, told: enter them in peace and security. Any lingering resentment in their hearts will be removed, so they sit as brothers on couches, facing one another. No fatigue will touch them there and they will never be expelled. Tell My servants that I am truly the Forgiving, the Merciful — and that My punishment is truly the painful punishment.

• When present hardship feels overwhelming, remember that Allah’s promised reward includes both lasting rest and freedom from fear of losing it.
• Let the picture of pure brotherhood encourage you to address wrongs and work on hidden resentment, rather than settling for outward politeness.
• Keep hope and fear together: do not let your failures lead you to despair of mercy, or let hope in forgiveness make wrongdoing seem harmless.

The guests of Ibrāhīm bring both glad tidings and the news of Lūṭ's people; the cry seizes them at sunrise. Then the companions of al-Ḥijr — Thamūd — who denied the messengers and used to carve secure homes from the mountains; the cry seized them in the morning and what they earned did not avail them.

• Do not mistake difficult circumstances for the limits of Allah’s mercy. Ibrāhīm عليه السلام expressed amazement at unexpected good news without surrendering to despair.
• Let trust in Allah lead to obedience and care for others. The promised rescue came with instructions to leave, keep moving, and protect the family from behind.
• A crowd’s excitement does not make its conduct right. Listen to calls to fear Allah and respect others rather than letting shared enthusiasm silence moral restraint.
• Turn awareness of earlier wrongdoing into self-examination. Visible reminders are useful when they prompt reflection, including scrutiny of worship, dealings, and honesty.
• Do not treat achievement or a secure home as proof that you can ignore guidance. Thamūd’s material strength did not undo their rejection of Allah’s signs.

We did not create the heavens and the earth and what is between them except in truth, and the Hour is surely coming — so overlook, with gracious forbearance. Indeed, your Lord is the Knowing Creator.

• When you are wronged, remember that the immediate exchange is not the final judgment. Certainty of Allah's justice gives you a reason to resist personal revenge.
• Let forgiveness shape what happens afterward: do not keep bringing an overlooked offense back as a reproach.
• Take your own actions seriously, not only the wrongs of others. Purposeful creation and the coming Hour place your conduct within a life of accountability.
• When resurrection seems difficult to imagine, remember whose power and knowledge are in question: the Creator knows even what has scattered throughout the earth.

The tafsīr in brief

We have given you seven of the oft-repeated verses and the great Qurʾān — so do not strain your eyes towards the enjoyments We have given others. Proclaim what you are commanded and turn away from the polytheists; indeed We are sufficient for you against the mockers. And when your chest tightens at what they say, the prescription is: glorify your Lord with praise, be of those who prostrate, and worship your Lord until the certainty comes to you.

• Let the gift of the Qur’an shape what you value. Instead of measuring your life against others’ possessions, give attention to revelation and show kindness to believers.
• Take revelation seriously rather than treating its warning as something to dismiss. The promise of questioning calls for attention to what you actually do.
• Do not let ridicule set the terms of faithfulness. Allah’s assurance to the Prophet ﷺ accompanies the command to keep conveying the message, not to bargain it away.
• When words hurt, turn toward praise, prayer and prostration. Keep worship rooted in your life even when the immediate distress passes.
