The tafsīr in brief

Praise belongs to Allah, to whom belongs whatever is in the heavens and the earth, and praise belongs to Him in the Hereafter. Those who disbelieve say the Hour will not come to us. Say: yes, by my Lord, it will surely come to you — the Knower of the unseen, from whom not the weight of an atom escapes, in the heavens or in the earth.

• Let praise reach beyond the gifts you can see. The One who owns both worlds also knows the hidden details of life, and His knowledge is joined here with mercy and forgiveness.
• Take your choices seriously: nothing is lost from Allah’s knowledge. Prepare for the certain Hour with faith and good deeds rather than resistance to His messages.
• Do not let ridicule decide what you accept as true. Seek the recognition and guidance described among those given knowledge, rather than copying the mockers’ accusations.
• Use ordinary moments beneath the sky and upon the earth to remember your dependence on Allah and turn back to Him.

The tafsīr in brief

We gave Dāwūd bounty from Us — mountains and birds repeating praise with him — and We softened iron for him: make full coats of mail and measure the links. And for Sulaymān the wind, and a spring of molten copper, and jinn working before him. Work, O family of Dāwūd, in gratitude — and few of My servants are grateful.

• Answer a useful ability with careful work. Dāwūd’s gift of softened iron led to a task that required precision, not permission to be careless.
• Do not confuse impressive ability with unlimited knowledge or independent power. The jinn served by Allah’s permission and still did not know that Sulaymān had died.
• Give gratitude a practical expression: choose a righteous deed through which you will use what Allah has given you.
• Do not assume that having more will make you more thankful. Examine your response to the blessings you already have.

The tafsīr in brief

There was for Sabaʾ a sign in their dwelling place: two gardens on the right and the left. Eat from the provision of your Lord and be grateful to Him — a good land and a forgiving Lord. But they turned away, so We sent upon them the flood of the dam and exchanged their two gardens for gardens of bitter fruit, tamarisk and a little lote tree. And they said: our Lord, lengthen the distance between our journeys — and they wronged themselves, so We made them narrations and dispersed them entirely.

• Enjoy provision without forgetting its Giver. Gratitude should shape worship and obedience, not remain only a feeling about having enough.
• Notice ordinary blessings before familiarity makes them invisible. Safety, nearby supplies, and manageable journeys deserve thanks, not resentment because they lack excitement.
• Read the downfall of Sabaʾ as a lesson for your own response to ease and difficulty. The passage calls for both gratitude and patience, rather than mere curiosity about a lost civilization.
• Do not treat following temptation as inevitable because others do it. Keep the Hereafter in view: the believers’ exception shows that following Iblīs was not everyone’s response.

Say: call upon those you claim besides Allah — they possess not an atom's weight in the heavens or the earth. Intercession does not benefit with Him except for one whom He permits. And We have not sent you except comprehensively to mankind, as a bringer of good tidings and a warner, but most of the people do not know. And it is not your wealth or your children that bring you nearer to Us in position, but whoever believes and does righteousness. Say: I only advise you of one thing — that you stand for Allah in pairs and individually, then reflect.

• Direct worship and ultimate reliance to Allah alone. Neither supposed divine partners nor claims of access to angels can replace His permission or remove personal accountability.
• Receive the Messenger’s ﷺ good news and warning as a message for you, not another people. Respond while the opportunity remains instead of demanding control over the timing of judgment.
• Examine inherited assumptions and influential voices rather than letting them decide for you. Make space for sincere reflection: the people you follow cannot take your responsibility away.
• Measure progress by faith and righteous action, not possessions or family size. Use provision to do good and spend in Allah’s cause rather than treating comfort as proof of His approval.
• Seek Allah’s reward when sharing the truth, and ground your guidance in His revelation. The Messenger ﷺ asked for no payment and attributed his guidance to his Lord.
