The prophets and the Prophet’s ﷺ family
Follow the relationships the sources name, without filling in the generations they do not.
The Qur'an names 25 prophets. It does not give one unbroken family tree joining all of them. The lines below show the relationships it does name; the Sealed Nectar marks the generations between Ismāʿīl عليه السلام and ʿAdnān as disputed.
The two lines from Ibrāhīm عليه السلام
From Ibrāhīm عليه السلام through Ismāʿīl عليه السلام
- Ibrāhīm عليه السلام
- Ismāʿīl عليه السلام
- Later descendants — generations not securely named
- ʿAdnān
- Maʿadd
- Nizār
- Muḍar
- Ilyās
- Mudrikah
- Khuzaymah
- Kinānah
- an-Naḍr
- Mālik
- Fihr
- Ghālib
- Luʾayy
- Kaʿb
- Murrah
- Kilāb
- Quṣayy
- ʿAbd Manāf
- Hāshim
- ʿAbd al-Muṭṭalib
- ʿAbdullāh
- Prophet Muḥammad ﷺ
The connection to Ismāʿīl عليه السلام is affirmed, but the names and number of generations between him and ʿAdnān are disputed. The named line from ʿAdnān to the Prophet ﷺ is the agreed genealogical line given in the Sealed Nectar.

From Ibrāhīm عليه السلام through Isḥāq عليه السلام
- Ibrāhīm عليه السلام
- Isḥāq عليه السلام
- Yaʿqūb عليه السلام
- Yūsuf عليه السلام
The Qur'an names these direct family relationships. It also names other prophets among Ibrāhīm's descendants, but does not give a complete father-to-son chain for each of them.
; ; ; ;
The other prophets named in the Qur'an
They belong in the story, but drawing a parent-child line between them where the Qur'an does not would make the map less trustworthy.
Earlier prophets
Ādam عليه السلام, Idrīs عليه السلام, Nūḥ عليه السلام
The Qur'an names them but does not provide a complete father-to-son chain from Ādam عليه السلام to Nūḥ عليه السلام.
; ;
Sent to earlier peoples
Hūd عليه السلام, Ṣāliḥ عليه السلام, Shuʿayb عليه السلام
Their people and messages are named; their place in a continuous family tree is not established.
; ;
Alongside Ibrāhīm عليه السلام
Lūṭ عليه السلام
The Qur'an places him with Ibrāhīm عليه السلام, without supplying a father-to-son link.
;
From the later prophetic families
The Qur'an identifies Dāwūd عليه السلام as Sulaymān's عليه السلام father, Mūsā عليه السلام and Hārūn عليه السلام as brothers, Zakariyyā عليه السلام as Yaḥyā's عليه السلام father, and Maryam as ʿĪsā's عليه السلام mother. It does not give a full connecting chain for the others.

The Prophet's ﷺ household
His ﷺ closest family, grouped by their relationship to him. These are named relatives, not a claim that this is every member of Banū Hāshim.

Source note: ar-Raḥīq al-Makhtūm, “The Lineage and Family of Muhammad”, divides the lineage into the agreed line to ʿAdnān, disputed names back to Ismāʿīl عليه السلام, and unreliable earlier genealogies. This map leaves those uncertain generations unnamed.
