Al-ʿAnkabūt

Alif, Lām, Mīm.

Do the people think that they will be left to say, 'We believe' and they will not be tried?

We certainly tried those before them, so Allah will surely make evident the truthful and make evident the liars.

And whoever strives only strives for [the benefit of] himself.

And [mention] Ibrāhīm, when he said to his people, worship Allah and fear Him.

You only worship, besides Allah, idols, and you invent falsehood.

But the answer of his people was only that they said, 'Kill him or burn him.'

And [mention] Lūṭ, when he said to his people, indeed you commit such immorality as no one has preceded you with.

Do you indeed approach men and cut off the road?

The example of those who take allies besides Allah is like that of the spider that takes a home.

And these examples We present to the people, but none understand them except those of knowledge.

Recite what has been revealed to you of the Book and establish prayer; indeed prayer prohibits immorality and wrongdoing.

And do not argue with the People of the Scripture except in a way that is best.

Does it not suffice them that We have sent down to you the Book which is recited to them?

Every soul will taste death; then to Us you will be returned.

If you asked them who created the heavens and earth and subjected the sun and moon, they would surely say, 'Allah.'

And this worldly life is not except amusement and diversion.

And when they board the ship, they supplicate Allah, sincere to Him in religion.

And those who strive for Us — We will surely guide them to Our ways. And Allah is with the doers of good.
