Zakariyyā عليه السلام, old and his wife barren, calls upon his Lord in a private, quiet supplication — not despairing of Allah's mercy even when his own bones have weakened and his hair has turned white. Allah answers with Yaḥyā, naming him as unprecedented.

• Let this opening account of mercy shape your prayer: speak privately and honestly about weakness while remembering Allah’s past kindness.
• When asking for family blessings or a lasting legacy, ask also for goodness that pleases Allah—not simply for the gift itself.
• Do not measure Allah’s power by your circumstances. Zakariyyā’s amazement and request for reassurance show that a trusting heart can still seek understanding and peace.
• Use the abilities you have to encourage worship, and approach Scripture with real effort. Neither restricted speech nor youth prevented meaningful devotion in this story.
• Make compassion, purity, and kindness to parents part of your religious growth. The closing portrait honors a righteous life and looks beyond it to resurrection.

Maryam withdraws to a private place; Jibrīl appears to her in the form of a man, and she conceives ʿĪsā by Allah's command alone. In her pain and isolation she is comforted by a stream and dates, then told to observe a vow of silence. When she brings the infant to her people, he speaks in the cradle, declaring his prophethood and servitude to Allah before he can even nurse.

• Guard your boundaries and turn to Allah when afraid. Maryam’s encounter also reminds us that what exceeds ordinary human possibilities is not beyond Allah’s power.
• Do not mistake someone’s anguish for weak faith. Meet distress with compassion and practical care; this passage places reassurance, food, and drink beside a deeply painful ordeal.
• Do not turn appearances or family expectations into a verdict against someone. Maryam’s accusers did not know the truth that Allah would reveal through her child.
• Make devotion a lifelong practice that includes prayer, giving, and kindness to your mother. Keep your conduct grounded in awareness of death and resurrection.

The surah states plainly that this is the true account of ʿĪsā ibn Maryam عليه السلام — a matter people dispute over. Allah declares it is not fitting that He should take a son; when He decrees a matter, He simply says 'Be,' and it is. ʿĪsā himself affirmed that Allah is his Lord and their Lord, calling people to worship Him alone, yet the factions after him differed among themselves. Allah warns of the coming of a tremendous Day.

• Honour ʿĪsā عليه السلام as Allah’s servant and prophet, and follow his call to worship Allah alone. Neither exaggeration nor rejection is faithful to the truth about him.
• When people disagree, examine what the teaching actually says rather than choosing the view that suits your desires. Disagreement does not itself make clear guidance unclear.
• Use your hearing, attention and thought to respond to guidance now. Do not postpone taking a warning seriously until its consequences are in front of you.
• Let your return to Allah shape how you handle what you possess. Earthly ownership is temporary, but accountability cannot be avoided.

Ibrāhīm عليه السلام addresses his idol-worshipping father with tender, repeated address — 'Yā abati' — reasoning with him about knowledge he lacks and warning him gently of a painful end, even as his father threatens to stone him. Ibrāhīm's response is to withdraw peacefully and keep praying for him, while trusting Allah's compensation.

• Let truth and sound knowledge guide difficult family conversations. Respect for an elder does not mean accepting a belief that cannot withstand honest questioning.
• Make correction an expression of concern for someone's welfare, not a chance to feel superior. Serious warnings can still be spoken tenderly.
• When a conversation becomes threatening, peaceful withdrawal can preserve conviction without escalating harm. Turn to Allah rather than answering hostility with hostility.
• Do not measure faithfulness only by the relationships it costs. Ibrāhīm's story gives reason to hope in Allah's generosity without prescribing the same outcome for every person.

The surah names Mūsā, Ismāʿīl, and Idrīs عليهم السلام in quick succession, each praised for a specific quality — sincerity, truthfulness to his promise, or steadfastness and elevated rank — before summarising: these are among the prophets Allah favoured, who fell down prostrating and weeping when the signs of the Most Merciful were recited to them.

• Recognise guidance and honour as gifts from Allah. Mūsā's story also encourages asking Him for support in serving Him, rather than treating help as a weakness.
• Make devotion visible in ordinary conduct: fulfil promises, encourage prayer and zakāh, and approach revelation with humility rather than mere acknowledgment.
• Protect prayer from being displaced by desires. If you have slipped, respond with repentance, renewed faith and good action—not resignation.
• Let Allah's promised future shape present choices: practise mindfulness of Him and value peaceful speech over empty talk, trusting a reward you have not yet seen.
• Do not confuse waiting with being forgotten by Allah. His command governs the angels, and your task is patient, continuing worship of the Lord who has no equal.

A disbeliever asks, mockingly, whether he will really be raised alive after death, forgetting that Allah created him before, when he was nothing at all. Allah warns that such people and the devils will be gathered and brought kneeling around Hell from every group, singling out the most defiant first. Every single person will pass over it, a matter decreed as certain, and Allah will then save the mindful and leave the wrongdoers there, fallen to their knees.

• When resurrection seems difficult to imagine, remember your own beginning. Your inability to picture being restored does not limit the power of the One who first created you.
• Do not mistake belonging to a crowd for protection from accountability. Allah distinguishes wrongdoing within every group and knows who deserves punishment.
• Read the warning and the promise together. Let the inevitable encounter awaken seriousness, and let Allah's promise of rescue encourage mindfulness rather than despair.

When Allah's verses are recited to the disbelievers, they arrogantly ask the believers which of the two groups has the better position and finer gathering — pointing to their own worldly comfort. Allah answers that He increases the guidance of those who are already guided, and that lasting good deeds are better in reward and better in outcome than any fleeting worldly advantage. The man who denies Allah's signs and boasts he will surely be given wealth and children even in the next life is warned that his claim will be recorded and his punishment increased.

• Do not let impressive homes, popularity, or influential company decide whose beliefs deserve your trust. Outward success is not proof of truth.
• Use the time you have for continued obedience. A comfortable extension of life is not the same as growing in guidance, and lasting deeds matter more than appearances.
• Do not turn personal wishes about the Hereafter into confident claims about Allah’s promises. Such words require a basis and carry accountability.
• Build your priorities around what has a lasting reward with Allah, rather than possessions or people you imagine will secure your final outcome.

People take gods besides Allah hoping they will be a source of honour and support, but those very gods will reject their worship and turn into opponents against them on the Day of Judgement. Allah describes gathering the mindful before Him as honoured guests and driving the guilty to Hell like a thirsty herd. No one will have any power to intercede on that Day, except one who has taken a covenant with the Most Merciful.

• Examine where you seek lasting honour and protection. A false object of worship cannot provide security simply because someone trusts it.
• When hostility continues, resist both the pull towards evil and impatience about its outcome. Allah has not given wrongdoing unlimited time.
• Measure success by your final destination, not your present standing. Prepare for an honoured welcome through belief, obedience and avoiding what Allah has prohibited.
• Let hope for intercession strengthen sincere faith and righteous action rather than become an excuse to neglect them.

The surah closes with one of the Qur'an's strongest rebuttals of the claim that the Most Merciful has taken a son — described as so grave that the heavens might nearly be torn apart by it — before turning to a gentle promise: those who believe and do righteous deeds, the Most Merciful will bestow upon them love.

• Speak about Allah with reverence. Attributing offspring to Him is not a harmless expression; it contradicts His oneness and self-sufficiency.
• Let personal responsibility replace reliance on belonging to a crowd. You are Allah’s servant, fully accounted for, and will return to Him alone.
• Seek honour through sincere faith and righteous action rather than making admiration your goal. Affection in people’s hearts is a gift Allah places there.
• Read the Qur’ān ready for both encouragement and correction. Let the fate of earlier generations prevent you from treating its warnings as distant or irrelevant.
