Where they appear

1. The journey to Ṭāʾif and the Night Journey (al-Isrāʾ)

   Sent ahead to Yathrib as the first teacher of the Qur'an there after the first pledge of ʿAqabah.

2. The Hijrah — migration to Madinah

   Carried the banner at Badr and at Uḥud, where he was killed.

How it ended

Killed at Uḥud carrying the banner; there was not enough cloth to shroud him.
