01The Qur'an and the warner sent to a heedless peopleāyāt 1–12
An oath by the Qur'an confirms the Prophet ﷺ is truly one of the messengers, upon a straight path, sending revelation from the Almighty, the Merciful. It was sent to warn a people whose forefathers had received no warner, so they had become heedless — yet most will not believe, and Allah describes those blocked from guidance as if fettered and veiled.
02The parable of the town and its lone believerāyāt 13–27
A town is sent two messengers, then a third, and rejects all three, threatening to stone them. A man comes running from the far end of the city, urging his people to follow the messengers, warning them that he serves no false gods. When they kill him, Allah honours him instantly with entry into Paradise, showing mercy even as his people are destroyed.
03Signs in the dead earth, the night, the sun and moonāyāt 33–44
A sequence of natural signs — dead land brought to life with grain, the pairs found in all creation, the night stripped away to reveal day, the sun running to its resting place, the moon measured through its phases — each pointing to a Creator whose precision leaves no excuse for denying resurrection or His oneness.
04The denial of resurrection answeredāyāt 77–83
The surah closes by confronting the objection head-on: a man who forgets his own creation from a mere drop dares to argue about reviving decayed bones. Allah's reply is that the One who created the heavens and earth is certainly able to create the like of them again — His command is simply 'Be,' and it is.
