Knowledge and awareness
Al-Muḥṣī ٱلْمُحْصِى
The Reckoner of all things: the One who has counted and enumerated everything, exactly.
Reported in the list of ninety-nine · root ح ص ي
Why Allah uses this name
Sūrat and Sūrat al- both state that He has enumerated all things in number; the enumeration lists the name for the attribute.
Take this with you
Nothing you did is too small to be counted — which should frighten and encourage you at once.
'…and He has enumerated (aḥṣā) all things in number' (72:28).
Qurʾān 72:28; the name itself listed in Sunan al-Tirmidhī 3507 (the enumeration of the ninety-nine names)
Where it appears in the Qur'an
This name is reported in the list of ninety-nine, but the Qur'an says it as a verb or a phrase rather than as this single word, so there is no word-for-word occurrence to list. The reasoning above cites the āyāt it is taken from.
